Goldsmiths Ellen Philippen (1976) and Lotte Porrio (1976) are inspired by the enchanting objects Philipp Franz von Siebold collected during the 19th century in Japan. The extraordinary marquetry, exquisite blossoms and delicate patterns are lovingly translated into the new jewelry collection by OOGST SIERADEN which is on display at the SIEBOLDHUIS.
Gold and silver, structure and contrast, exquisite pearls and uniquely cut gemstones reflect the layers in kimonos, the boxes fitted with sleeve and seal, the herbarium and Siebold’s beloved hydrangea.
On Sunday 19 September and 17 October you can try on these unique pieces and both goldsmiths (trained at Vakschool Schoonhoven) will be present to specify the constructing techniques and use of materials. The pieces are available for purchase.
