Each of the prints from this set portrays a famous actor paired with a location near Ryōgoku Bridge and carries a poem composed and signed by the depicted actor. This print shows Onoe Kikugorō III (1784–1849) and pairs him with the Ekō Temple near the eastern bank, on the particularly auspicious day that the temple allows the public to visit and see the sacred icon it houses (kaichō). The Ekō Temple was also known as a popular venue for sumo wrestling.
